This project was created to provide a safe haven for the women of the Downtown Eastside. It features 36 units of permanent housing and 12 short-term stay shelter units for homeless/homeless-at-risk women. The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre occupies the first floor and the basement of the building. This project was supported by a diverse and active board of directors, several ministries in three levels of government, the Vancouver Foundation and the Real Estate Foundation and many others.
